Ever since going out on my own and becoming freelance full time... I've been hungry... in both senses of the word. Not knowing when money is coming in is a scary thought. I'm actually doing good for the first time since then, both emotionally and professionally. I have been meeting more and more people who have helped support me and treated me like an equal, instead of an employee. I thank these people for that. You know who you are.

I've updated the digifolio to show my newer style of things. People have really been feeling it and I'm smiling inside. It's something i have been working on for a while and it's finally starting to get some recognition. My favorite pieces that I have done in the past few months are highlighted in red.

I am also in production with a few pieces from my handfolio. Converting them to digital illustrations for the digifolio. Its time consuming around a busy schedule of keeping my clients happy, but clients come first. eventually I would like to complete them all, but that will never happen. More will always be drawn :)

lunatic or visionary?... lunatic :)

Thursday, October 28th 2005

OK so i've been playing around with this old copy of 3D STUDIO MAX that i've had since college. I never really tried to do anything with it.

Recently i've been having these visions of grandeur about combining 3d video, flash and web interfaces. Now don't get me wrong, I know i'm not the first to do it and i know there is nothing spectacular about this video itself. What this does show is my vision might actually be a possible for me By actually creating something in 3dS MAX and getting the video into flash.

www.DJGOGO13.com launched

"Nobody listens to tekno."

Wednesday, August 31st 2005

That won't happen as long as DJ GOGO13 has anything to say about it.
GOGO13 plays an aggressive style of American Drum & Bass. He is influenced by many famous state side producers. In the short time of djing he's developed a flawless style of mixing and an impeccable track selection, making dance floors explode wherever he touches down. With such a strong passion for the music and the scene, he strives to be the next big name in drum and bass.
His site has FINALLY launched and is nice and clean. Just like his mixes. Be sure to check him out every other Thursday at Club Polaris in Philly, on 9th between Callowhill and Spring Garden or check out his event listings to see where he is going to be next.

salvador dali exhibit

"A legal mind expanding experience."

Sunday, May 22nd 2005

I finally had a chance to go see the Salvador Dali exhibit currently at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Actually, I tried to go and see it a week prior, but it was sold out. I now know why. We arrived at 8:30pm on the nose, a half hour late. When we walked in we thought it would be an easy stroll into the exhibit. WRONG. There was a line, a winding line. You know the type, nylon and plastic clipped together to for an extremely complicated maze. A quarter of the way through the traffic control, we meet up with these two nice gentlemen who handed us these little headphone things. Now these headphones have a radio transmitter attached to them. Your supposed to dial in a number, mounted on the wall, next to selected pieces in the exhibit. A few seconds later you get some amazing information about Dali and that particular piece. Keep in mind that we got there late, guess my unit had been going throughout the day. I was only able to listen to about four stories before my batteries gave out.
So if you go, go early.
I learned a lot about Dali through those stories. Who he was, who his affiliates were, his relationship with his parents and family etc. This is about where my transmitter went caput. I was upset. Then, I started to read the information on the walls. Who would have thought reading can teach, too! Two and a half mind bending and astonishing hours later we were about half way through the exhibit's 18 rooms. We were told that "the museum would be closing in a half hour." "I wish we could have gotten here at 8 o'clock so I could see more." I thought as we feverishly rushed through Dali's "New Renaissance" and out the door two minutes before 11:00pm. During this mad dash of over stimulation I seriously only paused at to gaze at "Temptation of St. Anthony" my favorite piece of Dali's, for many reasons other than just name.

scion graffiti art installation

"Graffiti is art. Say it. See it."

Friday May 6th 2005

... was a "First Friday." For those of you who don't know what that is, here's a quick run down. There are a lot of art galleries around 2nd and Market St. area in Philadelphia. Every first friday of the month they open their doors to the general public for free. People from all over the area come down to "Old City" to see some spectacular art pieces from both local and international artists.
This month, my favorite gallery, "Union 237" was displaying the "Scion Art Installation". Unreal pieces of artwork from world renowned graffiti artists. They have inspired me to create a few of my own graffiti pieces, They are in the "handfolio." I'm sure there will be more graffiti to follow from "plae da" (play duh) as well, I rather enjoyed doing them. I mean he did.
Just in case you were wondering. My favorite piece from this exhibition was Blaine Fontana's.
